Saints Break Records in Romp Of Rider – Nothing could stop the Siena women’s lacrosse team from a record-breaking day at Hickey Field on Saturday afternoon.

Individually, senior Taryn Asselin set a new single-game program history for most draw controls in a game with 15.

Asselin made her mark earlier this season in a win over Le Moyne on March 2 and set a record when she also had 12 points in a win over #18 Army West Point on February 17.

Despite being in just their first season in women’s lacrosse, the Broncs (6-3, 0-1) have had a strong start to their season and have become the MAAC’s top player in terms of ability. controlled the draw and was one of Katie Walsh’s best scorers.

Walsh has averaged 3.13 goals per game and controlled the draw more than seven times, but was held to just two draws and one goal against the Saints.

Offensively, junior Grace Dobrzynski led the Saints with an eight-point afternoon (two goals and a career-high six assists) while junior Kelly Logue surpassed 100 points of his career with a six-point day (three goals and three assists).

Siena led 7-1 at the end of the first half, receiving two goals from freshman Olivia Nicholson and senior Rebecca Gilhooley.

The Saints kept their foot on the gas, outscoring the Broncs 6-2 in the second quarter to take a 13-3 lead into halftime.

Siena was relentless in the second half, outscoring the Broncs 9-1 the rest of the way.

Twelve different Saints contributed to the points column including a trio who scored hat-tricks (Logue, Nicholson and Gilhooley).

On defense, graduate Jenna Colabufo totaled a team-high four turnovers and reached 50 during her Saints career.

Rider, who averaged nearly 15 goals per game and ranked second in the MAAC, had just nine shots blocked, including six on goal.
