Providing gamblers with safe and reliable casino reviews since 2011 – CasinoTopsOnline

If you fancy playing online casino games like blackjack, slots and roulette, you need a safe, reliable and licensed platform. The only issue is that gamblers have many options to choose from, so how do you know which casinos are worth your time and won’t try to scam you?

CasinoTopsOnline is a fantastic repository of online casino information, from platform reviews and info on types of casinos to payment guides, game guides and more. If you want to find out about the best casinos or improve your online gambling knowledge, this could be the perfect site.

I need this information too and always want to improve my gaming knowledge, so I’ve spent the last few weeks reading the different articles, testing the casinos they recommend and using their tips to gauge if CasinoTopsOnline is worth it. You can read my findings below in this in-depth review.

What is CasinoTopsOnline?

Let’s start with a little background information so you can understand exactly what the platform does and where it originates from. CasinoTopsOnline was founded in 2011 and has been servicing the online iGaming industry with reviews and information ever since.

The owner of the site is GiG, which acquired CasinoTopsOnline in 2017, and the platform has since been translated into 19 languages. Their team is a mix of freelancers and professionals from around the world, with offices in Spain, Malta and Denmark.

The site is dedicated to providing consumers with up-to-date information about everything to do with online casinos, and I’ve found it covers the following main topics:

  • Casino reviews.
  • Info on different casino types.
  • New casino releases.
  • Payment methods accepted at casinos.
  • Bonuses available at casinos.
  • Game guides.
  • Responsible gambling guides.

From my research, it has a comprehensive range of articles that deal with the main aspects casino enthusiasts are concerned with.

Why should you use CasinoTopsOnline?

I’ve broken my CasinoTopsOnline review into the main areas I felt the platform excelled at, and the different categories their content covers.

The info on different casino types is sound

The first main category of the website deals with specific casino types, and I think this is great for anyone who knows vaguely what they want but doesn’t know the best casinos for that situation. I checked a range of articles on casino types, including:

  • Fast payout casinos.
  • Best online casinos.
  • New casinos.
  • New bingo sites.
  • Best mobile casinos.

These are very typical listicle pages that contain up to 10 different recommended casinos, together with useful info on their features and how to use them. I like to enjoy a few games of bingo every so often, so the New Bingo Sites article was great. I gave Unibet a try from their list and it did have some excellent bingo games. I would have liked the page to contain some tips on how to play bingo, though, or more info about the different types of games.

There are reviews for individual casinos too, although at first glance, you don’t realize it and this is something that I’d change. In the main navigation, there is no drop-down menu that shows individual casino reviews, so you have to click on a listicle page, find the casino in the list and then find the review from there, which is a little irritating.

I can’t fault the casino reviews at all, though, and their layout is spot on. The little info box next to the pros and cons section is really useful and you can click on the different tabs to find details on support methods and payment info, for example.

Overall, if you want info on a specific casino or are looking for a specific type of casino, CasinoTopsOnline has a great array of guides and reviews.

You can find useful info about payment methods

I often take payment methods for granted and assume that everyone just uses their credit card! CasinoTopsOnline understands that this isn’t the case and they have some really useful guides on alternative payment methods available at online casinos, including:

  • Neteller
  • Klarna
  • Apple Pay
  • PayPal
  • Zimpler
  • paysafecard

These guides provide details on the best casinos that accept these payments, and also give tips on how the payment method works and the challenges you could face. I found the All Payments page useful too, as I didn’t realize some casinos accepted cryptocurrency or pre-paid gift cards.

From my testing, the payment info was accurate – I’ve found before with other review platforms that they sometimes state a casino accepts a payment method when it actually doesn’t.

They provide up-to-date info on bonuses

Let’s face it, everyone loves casino bonuses – I know it’s one of the first things I look for! With that in mind, CasinoTopsOnline nails this section and offers a wealth of info about common bonus types, such as no deposit bonuses, cashback bonuses and welcome offers.

I’m not so sure about the birthday bonus article – it felt a little fluffy. But the other content is spot on. I was easily able to learn about important terms and conditions like wagering requirements and expiry periods, and how to claim the offers. This is real info that I can put to good use!

You can learn about popular casino games

The games section of the website is detailed, although I didn’t realise initially that it had more reviews outside slots and lotteries – you have to hover over the Casino Games drop-down to expand the menu and then click All Casino Games, which brings up a main page with all the different game categories. Games covered include:

  • Slots.
  • Slot providers.
  • Lotteries.
  • Jackpot slots.
  • Roulette.
  • Blackjack.

These are the main categories and I assume they are promoted that way on the menu because of popularity. The guides are pretty straightforward and explain where the best sites are to play them and what to look out for.

I would like to see sections in these pages for game tips or explaining the rules more – there is a small section at the end that describes the basics, but for those who want to improve their skills, the pages are limited. I also couldn’t find any information about live dealer games, which I found strange due to the increased popularity of this genre.

The team is knowledgeable, with years of experience

Knowing who is writing the content, designing the site and pulling the strings behind the company is important for a review site. I want to know who is creating the guides and reviews – and why I should bother trusting them!

CasinoTopsOnline has a team page so you can see all the members. They all have LinkedIn profiles and you can follow them on other social media platforms too – these people are very real! I checked the profiles of the main content contributors, including Giuseppe Faraone, James Hall and Kevin Flynn. They all have a background in iGaming and appear to have a personal interest in gaming too.

Giuseppe, for example, has more than nine years of experience in the industry and has written 998 articles for the platform. I have no reservations about the team and I believe that the people responsible for the content know their stuff and believe in what they are doing.

They are committed to responsible gambling

Problem gambling is real and many people suffer from it, which is why I’m an advocate for responsible gambling, and I firmly believe that every casino and sportsbooks must provide knowledge and tools. Reviews sites like CasinoTopsOnline have a responsibility too and I believe any company affiliated with online gambling should act ethically.

From my research, CasinoTopsOnline does this and takes responsible gambling seriously. There is a responsible gambling section that has some fantastic tips that I’d not thought of, and a host of useful resource pages and guides on how to control your spending.

Not only that, though, I love that at the top of each info page, beneath the first heading, they have a Gambling is Addictive warning sign, and when you hover over it, it displays a warning message explaining the potential harm addiction causes.

Lastly, there is a large disclaimer in the website footer that provides a statement about gambling addiction, together with a telephone number you can contact to get help. It’s little touches like this that show me this company takes responsible gambling seriously.

They use an in-depth analysis model to rank casinos

When I look at review sites like these, I always check how they actually rank platforms – the hope is that they’re not just randomly picked with no forethought. Instead, I expect a thorough process and a strict range of criteria to determine who they promote.

Obviously, I’m not naive and CasinoTopsOnline does have affiliate partnerships, but that shouldn’t stop it from being objective and unbiased.

I checked the TopsRank page, which details exactly how it rates online casinos, and it was an eye-opener. Firstly, it checks all the features you would expect, starting with a valid gambling license and progressing to other things like game choice, bonuses, terms and conditions, banking systems, user experience and customer opinions.

After that, it actually employs a range of analytics and analytical models to create objective scores, which is not something I’ve come across before on review sites. This includes the Wilson score interval when looking at reviews, and the Bayesian averages and Item Response Theory. Basically, from what I can see, they aren’t making it up and use a combo of actual testing and reviewing, with advanced analytics.

If you’re looking for useful casino info, CasinoTopsOnline delivers

I found the information available at CasinoTopsOnline to be useful and the site is generally well designed. If you want an introduction into the world of online casinos and guides on how to use them, and which are the worthwhile platforms, this is a great site to try.
