Read on to find out more.
A brief history
The concept of Slingo was created by a real estate developer from New Jersey named Sal Falciglia Sr., in 1994. Falciglia pioneered the idea of a slot/Bingo hybrid game, introducing Slingo Inc. to the world. In 1996, the first online casino opened, and shortly after, Slingo spun onto the scene.
In the modern day, Slingo Bingo is available on most online casino sites, with themed games such as Rainbow Riches Slingo ready and waiting for you to discover.
How to play
When you enter a game of Slingo, you’ll see a single reel that displays five numbers at a time, as well as a five-by-five Bingo grid. The grid will consist of 25 numbers, and as gameplay commences, you’ll get up to 20 turns to spin the reel. When the reel grinds to a halt, if one of the numbers corresponds to a fixed number on your grid, the fixed number will get marked off. This will keep going until you mark off all the fixed numbers.
Upon filling an entire five number row either horizontally, vertically or diagonally, you’ll get an all-important Slingo. The more rows you can fill, the more Slingos you’ll receive, and the more Slingos you receive, the higher you can climb up the bonus multiplier ladder.
Marking off enough rows can trigger different bonuses, which are dependent on the game you’re playing, but have the potential to increase your prizes and help you well on the way to boosting your bankroll.
Slingo symbols
Each game of Slingo has its own set of symbols. Some of these help with gameplay, and others not so much. Whilst these can change depending on the theme of the game, the meaning of each symbol stays the same across all variations of Slingo Bingo. These include:
- Joker
The Joker symbol acts as a Wild, which you’ll be familiar with if you’re a fan of Slots. It can appear on the reel, allowing you to mark any fixed number off the grid, providing it’s landed in the same column as the Joker.
- Super Joker
The Super Joker works the same as the Joker symbol, but provides you with the ability to mark off any number, anywhere you’d like across the Bingo grid.
- Free Spin
The free spin symbol does exactly what it says on the tin – gives you a free spin to use during gameplay.
- Devil
The Devil symbol might get in your way, preventing you from marking off any numbers on the column in which it lands – so watch out!
