The Hammers sign youngster Dan Rigge
West Ham have overtaken a number of Premier League rivals with the signing of Manchester City youngster Dan Rigge, he writes Jack Rosser.
The Hammers have signed the sought-after 16-year-old midfielder ahead of a number of other Premier League clubs.
Liverpool had offered Rigge a trial with their academy sides but the youngster instead opted to accept West Ham’s firm offer, while Wolves and Leicester City were also in the mix.
East Londoners have been following Rigge for some time.
The midfielder made a couple of tryouts for the Hammers in January with Manchester City’s blessing before returning to watch the season in the North.
Now the campaign is over, the way is clear to complete a deal that will take him to the capital.
Rigge is seen as a bright prospect by those at West Ham and he will be working with their academy teams from next season.
