Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel Keeps Climbing the Steam Leaderboards, Here’s Why

Looking for another way to relive the nostalgia of the 90s and early 2000s? You’re in luck – Konami recently released a new free game Yu-Gi-Oh! the game is called Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel. The game breathes new life into a 20+ year competitive card game with flashy animations and over 10,000 different cards. Master Duel has been a huge hit on Steam and Twitch, where it is one of the most played and most watched games.

Yu-Gi-Oh! is a turn-based card game franchise where you and your opponent summon monsters to attack and deplete your enemies’ health points. Master Duel is a free-to-play digital version of that game, allowing players to spend money on gems that can be used to purchase digital card packs and other accessories, such as protection cards. Konami released the game on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, and it’s available for download on mobile devices. It’s cross-platform, which means you’ll be able to play against your friends no matter what device they’re playing on.

The game is torn Steam chart since its launch on January 18. At the time of publication, the game is the fourth-highest concurrent player game on Steam, sitting among perennial favorites. Master Duel finished 51,000 viewers on Twitch. A series of Unofficial tournament was announced at the same time, signaling that competitive players are interested in the game. The game’s development team also shared in a note that they plan to host future tournament.

Yu-Gi-Oh! The game is based on the popular manga by Kazuki Takahashi and its anime subtitles. The story follows the pointy-haired protagonist Yugi Muto and his alternate self, Yami Yugi, as they seek the strength to become better duelists. The Yu-Gi-Oh! Franchising popular video games on handheld consoles like the Game Boy Advance – as Konami released countless games like Yu-Gi-Oh! Eternal Duelist Soul in 2002 and Yu-Gi-Oh! 2004 World Championship Tournament. Since then, Konami has gone on to release dozens of titles for later platforms.
