He revealed that the secret to the perfect cheese toast is a layer of mayonnaise on the top of the bread.
Tristan explains that adding a layer of mayonnaise instead of butter to the outside of toast will help the bread cook more evenly when toasting.
It also reduces the risk of a cake burn that will inevitably spoil your toast.
The FSA warns that burnt toast may pose a cancer risk due to acrylamide, a chemical formed when starchy foods are cooked at high temperatures.
So make sure you toast and check in often.
