The image was created by Hungarian artist Gergely Dudas, also known as Dudolf.
Dudolf creates optical illusions as art to challenge people to look very closely at an image.
He did this by making one cup completely different from the others.
But looking at a bunch of cups that appear to be the same makes it harder than you’d first imagine.

This forces the brain to filter out what a harmless challenge might make it look different.

“Visual illusions highlight perceptual errors and provide important insights into the hidden neural processes that allow us to see the world around us.”
