But these delicious vegetables can be difficult to cook and burn easily.

One woman, visiting @tasteandtraveler on TikTok, said she master the method for sweet onions, perfectly cooked caramel.

She started with two yellow onions.

“Take two large onions, halve, peel and slice,” she says.

Next, prepare your pan:

“In a wide, thick-bottomed saucepan, heat a tablespoon of butter oil over medium heat until it’s bubbly.”

When the oil is hot enough, add the onion and start stirring. You want to make sure that every piece is completely coated with oil.

After about 10 minutes, she says, you’ll notice your onions take on a transparent appearance.

When this happens, “reduce the heat to medium-low and add a pinch of salt.”

Mix salt well.

“Cooking them over low and slow on medium heat is key,” she says. “So stir them every few minutes.”

She reveals what your onions will look like in 30 minutes: They’re slightly brown, soft, and malleable.

She kept mixing and then showed them what they looked like after 45 minutes: golden and beautiful.

She offers two helpful tips: “If your onions are sticking to the pan, reduce the heat. If they start to dry, add a little more water.”

And finally, she revealed the finished product: “After an hour, they look like this. They are sweet, rich, and delicious. ”

Her viewers enjoyed the clip:

“Please never stop this series! It is very helpful,” one person wrote.

“Totally worth the effort! Crock-Pots and other methods don’t quite get the same taste,” added another.
