Did you know there’s a secret app under the bonnet of your iPhone?

TikToker Foztech revealed how to access it with secret code.

All you have to do is open the dial pad and type * 3001 # 12345 # *.

Tap the call button and you’ll see a part of your iPhone that’s not accessible through normal settings.

It’s really designed for engineers to get insights into your smartphone connection.

But it’s still good to have a nose.

Although you may not understand most of it, there are some useful parts.

For example, try to find a bit called LTE RSRP, which stands for Reference Receiver Power.

This shows your actual signal strength.

It usually goes from -140 to -40, and the closer you are to -40 the better.

This is actually the data used to figure out what your signal bars show.

But most of the other features are for technology types and not much use for others.

In fact, the so-called Field Test Mode has existed for many years.

Android owners can find theirs by going to Settings > About phone > Status > SIM Status > Signal Strength.
