PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are searching for the owner of a dog they believe attacked a young woman.

State police said the owner was walking his dog at Hempfield Area High School when her dog attacked a young woman who was running nearby. Police said the woman went with her dog without saying a word.

The victim needs medical attention.
“We’re hoping to find the person and the dog to make sure the dog doesn’t show any signs of possible rabies,” said soldier Steven Limani.

Police said the dog was on a leash.
