“You would want to play for him”

MANCHESTER UNITED icon Nicky Butt has urged the club NOT to appoint Ajax boss Erik ten Hag in the summer.
SunSport understands that the Dutchman is the season-ending favorite to succeed interim Ralf Rangnick at Old Trafford.

The 52-year-old was interviewed for the job at United last week, although no offer has yet been sent to Ten Hag.
United’s failure to offer him a contract is said to have shocked the ex-FC Twente centre-back.
According to The Mirror, although he has impressed United with his vision for the club, the failure to open talks has left him baffled.
Ten Hag’s compatriot and former Red Devils boss Louis Van Gaal has advised him not to take over the Theater of Dreams.
Van Gaal believes Ten Hag should stay away from United as they are a “commercial club” and not a football club.
And now United have been warned against appointing Ten Hag by ex-midfielder and manager Butt.
Butt, who has won six Premier League titles at United, has stated he wants Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino instead.
Pochettino is also said to be a target as it is believed he is on board for a Premier League return.

Speaking to FourFourTwo, Butt said: “United needs stability.
“You can’t keep having interim managers or apprentices in very influential positions.
“You need people who have been there, seen it and done it.
“I would do anything to get Mauricio Pochettino as a coach.
“He’s proven himself in the Premier League, he’s young and enthusiastic, his style of play would suit United and his backroom staff seem turned on.
“I met him a couple of times at Spurs training ground and had lunch. You would want to play for him.”
