A CLEANING expert has revealed how she managed to transform filthy bathrooms using common household items.
Fiona Mills is a former hoarder technician involved with house cleaning, so she knows a thing or two about fighting dirt.
Mills, now a franchise sales coach at Spaulding Decon, says the bathroom is “the most germ-laden area in the house”.
The 37-year-old man told Insiders: “Without proper cleaning, they can inhibit bacterial growth and can also affect the integrity of the parts used in your bathtub and toilet.”
The worst part is that during her time as a stocking technician, Mills scrubbed toilets for two to three hours while on the job — but she shared tips so readers wouldn’t have to.
She recommends Microban 24-Hour Bathroom Wash, Sanitizing Spray, and The Pink Stuff Miracle Bathroom Foam.
After a bowel cleanse, she says it’s important to wipe down the seat, “the most touched part of the toilet except the flush handle”.
For this, she suggests Lysol wipes or disinfectant sprays should be applied to the toothbrush then scrubbed the area.
To clean the sides of the tub, Mills suggests scrubbing with hot water and a bathroom cleaning spray.
It is recommended to use a mixture of bathroom cleaners or an all-purpose spray, comet powder, and lemon juice on the floor.
She said the lemonade and an unused coffee filter did the magic.
It is recommended to soak the shower overnight in white vinegar every six months to maintain good water pressure.
