‘You can tell who the Man City boys are’ – Shaw told Grealish why Guardiola’s men stand out in the English camp

ENGLAND star Luke Shaw told Jack Grealish that Manchester City players stand out while serving with the national team.

Grealish, 27, spoke to the media ahead of the Three Lions’ big round of 16 clash with Senegal and revealed what Shaw had told him about his team-mates.

Opening up on a video of Phil Foden doing kick-ups, which has gone viral online, the attacking midfielder told Grealish: “Me and Phil do this all the time.

“Luke Shaw said to me, ‘If I get away with England, you can say who the City boys are because you always have a ball.’

“It’s true. Me, Phil, even Kyle [Walker] always want a ball, whether at home, at camp or here.

“At Aston Villa the players sat there on their phones, at City you sit there and balls fly through the dressing room.”

It seems that Man City players have the ball on their feet all the time and seem obsessed with football.

And the never-ending exercise appears to be working with Pep Guardiola’s England talents who have been impressive at the World Cup so far.

Grealish scored in the 6-2 win over Iran, Foden scored in the win against Wales and John Stones was superb in defense alongside Harry Maguire.

Additionally, Walker was part of the back four that kept a clean sheet against the Dragons and Kalvin Phillips played 30 minutes into the game.

England manager Gareth Southgate now faces a selection dilemma for the game against Senegal with so many players in top form.

The City stars’ positive performances will be music to Guardiola’s ears as his side need to be at their best when Premier League action returns on Boxing Day.

Man City have a lot of work to do as they are five points adrift of Arsenal.
