You can now send crypto to your friends via WhatsApp – here’s how

YOU can soon send crypto to your friends via WhatsApp.
The chat platform is testing crypto payments for some users in the United States.
Lucky users can send and receive money in a crypto WhatsApp chat.
Meta, the company that owns WhatsApp, is powering the feature using Novi, which is its own digital wallet.
Payment can be made in Pax Dollars.
The Pax currency is considered a ‘stablecoin’ because it is linked to the US dollar.
According to Novi, paying will be as easy and as sending any other type of attachment in WhatsApp.
The Novice website states: “Novi is a new way to send and receive money – instantly, securely and with no fees.
“With Novi on WhatsApp, you can transfer money without leaving your WhatsApp chats. Available in the US.”
It added: “Using Novi on WhatsApp is simple. You can either log in to your existing Novi account or create a new Novi account if you don’t have one already.
“Whether you’re sending a birthday surprise or helping pay a bill, the transfer is instant.”
The feature will show up via a paperclip icon on Android WhatsApp or a plus icon on iPhone.
Then simply select “Payment” from the pop-up menu.
WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption will not be affected so payments will be very secure.
There’s no word on when this feature will roll out to more users and more countries.
