Bitcoin helped create a new world of digital currency and now attention is turning to the new trend of NFT.

Cryptocurrencies are actually collections of computer code but coins like Bitcoin or Dogecoin have recognizable symbols.

NFT offers something different as it digitizes a work like art or music and turns it into an irreplaceable token stored through the blockchain.

That means it cannot be copied and is unique to whoever owns it.

It turns out that emoji sequences can be turned into NFTs, and the likes of Paris Hilton and Lil Wayne want to buy them.

An ’emoji sequence’ simply means a row of animated images, and they were also referred to as “Yats” by some early investors.

Yats can set you back from a few dollars to thousands of dollars depending on the emoji you want to buy.

Naveen Jain is the co-founder of Yat Labs, which sells emoji strings.

Jain is said to have made $20 million selling Yats since last February, according to The Wall Street Journal.

NFTs are a divisive topic as some people are splashing millions on them while others are calling them a waste of money.

David Gerard, author of the book ‘Attack of the 50 Foot Blockchain’, told the Wall Street Journal: “I could say this NFT represents a sequence of initials, or this NFT represents my ass.

“It would mean exactly the same thing as turning Yat into an NFT.”
