MAKING pies is not a total nightmare as The Great British Baking Show often portrays.
In fact, there are a few things you can fix to ensure that what you’re baking will be as delicious as you want it to be.

FEATURES IN THE FESTIVAL
Usually, when you’ve finished your cake and put it all together, you’d throw it in the oven to start baking as soon as possible.
But that can really ruin your chances of getting a soft pie crust.
Instead, you’ll want to put it in the freezer for 15 minutes to make sure the butter cools.
BAKING IN RACK WRONG
To make sure your crust bakes properly and doesn’t stick to a soggy bottom (voice of Paul Hollywood), place your cake on the bottom rack.
Baking on the bottom rack will ensure that the bottom crust is beautifully golden brown.
It all goes back to the crust but you should move it in and out of the fridge to make sure it’s always at the right temperature.
The dough should be at the optimum temperature for you to roll the dough – too cold, the dough will crack; too warm, it will be sticky and mushy.
DON’T MAKE IT BAD
While we expect homemade cupcakes to look a little rough around the edges, that doesn’t mean you can’t put in the effort to make it picturesque.
Once you’re done baking, rinse the eggs and sprinkle some raw sugar for a nice look.
This goes well with any baking dish but make sure you let the cake cool once it’s done baking.
It is recommended to let it cool for more than an hour because that way the filling will solidify and be cool enough to eat without burning your mouth.
