LeBron James and his LA Lakers just had a 111-104 loss to the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday. In a video posted to ESPN’s Youtube channel, analysts Keyshawn Johnson and Jay Williams talked about the Lakers’ woes.
The hot seat for Lakers coach Frank Vogel and James’ responsibility for the influence on the team’s lineup continues to attract attention.
Keyshawn, JWill & Max react to Lakers loss and LeBron james interview
Johnson, an extensive former NFL player, referred to the Lakers as:
“Most disappointing team in all of professional sports.”
Williams, a former NBA guard, agrees with Johnson, saying the only other team in contention is the Dallas Cowboys.
LeBron James asks about Frank Vogel’s future
Keyshawn Johnson focuses on LeBron James’ interview, in which James defends when asked about coach Frank Vogel’s future.
“Listen, I don’t have the experience of pointing fingers or pointing fingers of blame or trying to put a quote at the end or top of someone’s commentary on how they feel our coaching staff or Frank what is or what is Russ or what am I” m at or AD,” James said. “If that’s not positive for me, I’m great. That’s not my lane. I am not a negative person.”
James did a great job explaining his gratitude for his current position, even praising what he has seen from his coaching staff this season. He say:
“They put us in a position to succeed and it’s up to us to handle the job, so there’s always something we could all do better, but there’s nothing to blame.”
The Lakers continue
Known for his high basketball IQ and leadership, LeBron James is a four-time NBA champion and four-time MVP. Every team of James has experienced greatness in some way thanks to his presence.
With James at the helm and with all the deals Los Angeles has made pre-season, it’s written as the perfect recipe for a Finals. In August, the Lakers signed a contract Carmelo Anthony, Russell Westbrook, Kent Bazemore, Talen Horton-Tucker, Monk Malik, Kendrick Nunn, Trevor Ariza, Wayne Ellington and Dwight Howard.
However, the Lakers (22-23) are seventh in the West and are stumbling upon themselves.
Los Angeles’ next game is against the Orlando Magic (8-38), the NBA’s worst team. It’s an important game for Vogel to silence employment speculation at a time when the Lakers begin their six-game journey to the East Coast.
