Away September 1, 2023, Xbox is retiring Xbox Live Gold.

It is replaced by Xbox Game Pass Core and still allows its users to play Xbox games online.

However, there is one benefit of Xbox Live Gold that will no longer be available with Xbox Game Pass Core.

Games with Gold offers subscribers two free games each month to download and play as long as they have an Xbox subscription.

However, starting in September, that will be replaced with a small library of 25 Game Pass games for them to play.

This has resulted in Game Pass Ultimate subscribers who already have access to this small library not having to pay anything.

This comes on top of the recent Xbox Game Pass Ultimate price increase.

August will be the last time Xbox fans will be able to redeem Games with Gold, and they were hoping for the service to be shut down with a bang.

However, it seems that will not be the case as the offer this month is very mediocre.

Blue fire And inertial drift are the last Games with Gold and not very well known.

Normally priced at £16.74 ($19.99), Blue Fire is a well-reviewed 3D platformer full of puzzles and collectibles.

Normally priced at £16.99 ($19.99), Inertial Drift is a lesser-known futuristic racing game, although it has excellent reviews.

Xbox subscribers have from August 1st until August 31st to redeem their games and they can play them as long as they have a subscription.
