Xbox backward compatibility update adds 76 games to Xbox One, Series X

Microsoft is celebrating Xbox’s 20th anniversary by making 76 more games, from the original Xbox and Xbox 360, Backward compatible on current Xbox console. The games will support Auto HDR on the Xbox Series X and will be boosted on that as well as the Xbox One.

The list of games includes best-selling games such as the Max Payne trilogy; fan favorite like Red Dead Revolver, Gladius, and TimeSplitters: Perfect future; popular cultural monuments such as 50 Cent: Blood in the Sand; Software obscurity Otogi and Otogi 2; and major controversies like Manhunt.

Backward compatibility is pause in june 2019; Peggy Lo, Xbox compatibility program manager, called the surprise the “latest and final addition” to Xbox’s backwards compatibility program, which is announced at E3 2015 and bring Xbox 360 games to Xbox One next fall. The program was later expanded to Includes original Xbox games.

In addition to Auto HDR (with displays supported) on Xbox Series X and Series S consoles, original Xbox games will be quadruple the resolution on Xbox Series X and Xbox One X; 3x resolution on Xbox Series S and 2x resolution on Xbox One and Xbox One S.

Eleven games (Fear, fear 3, Binary domain, and Nier already mentioned) will get 60fps support thanks to the FPS Boost feature introduced for Xbox Series X this early year. In addition, 26 other games already in the program are backward compatible that will support FPS Boost – including Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Dragon Age: Origins, and Alan Wake. FPS Boost is also coming to 33 titles on Xbox Cloud Gaming.
