WWE Superstar Bayley reveals dream opponent after returning from injury – and it’s her unlikely ‘childhood hero’

WWE fan favorite Bayley made her long-awaited return to the ring at SummerSlam – and now she’s aiming for a dream match.

The RAW superstar, 33, spent nearly a year on the sidelines after tearing an ACL.

She returned to Nissan Stadium in July and teamed up with Dakota Kai and IYO SKY to form new trio Damage CTRL.

Next up is Bayley at Extreme Rules, where she will challenge Bianca Belair in a ladder match for the RAW Women’s Championship.

And during an appearance on the Five Count podcast, the California native revealed her dream opponent.

Bayley said, “Yes, I think I would say Lita because she was my childhood hero.

“I feel like that would just be the icing on the cake for my career story.”

Lita, now 47, was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2014 and is considered one of the greatest wrestlers of all time.

She had her first singles match in over a year DECADE Earlier this year, she lost to Becky Lynch in Saudi Arabia.

Bayley is hoping her dream match can happen – and she wants to make the headlines at WrestleMania.

She continued, “There are a lot of women at NXT that I’d love to do some stories with, tell some stories with, but I still don’t have a WrestleMania main event and I think that’s a big deal for everyone .

Especially since it’s been done a few times now in the women’s department.

“I’d love to do that or just do a singles title match at WrestleMania.

And she also revealed how “confused” her body is after being more than 12 months away from the brutal realities of top-level wrestling.

Bayley said: “It was pretty hard, to be honest.

“It was a lot of fun and I did things I’ve never done before and it’s been an honor to be on all the shows, just go wild on all the shows, but my body is so confused.

“I was in home rehab for a year and now it’s like, ‘Oh wait, are you still doing this? do you still wrestle Are you still traveling like a madwoman?’

“So now that my body and immune system are catching up with the travel schedule again, I’m fine.

“The WWE lifestyle is so wild, but I’ve had such a great time.”
