WWE Star Grayson Waller is “suspended” after a backstage altercation with Boss Shawn Michael while NXT is embroiled in chaos

WWE has “suspended” Grayson Waller after he became involved in an angry backstage argument with legend Shawn Michaels on a live media call.

The 32-year-old Australian currently competes in WWE’s NXT development brand, where the Heartbreak Kid is Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative.

The anger began when Michaels confirmed that Waller’s Steel Cage match with NXT Champion Bron Breakker at last Saturday’s Vengeance Day event could only be won by pinfall and submission, with the challenger losing the fight.

After the show, wrestling legend Michaels was attending a post-show media call when he was interrupted by an angry Waller.

And he asked HBK why he’s “not the guy,” as he claimed artists have to “be a fan” to work their way up NXT.

Waller was pushed out of the room by trainer Matt Bloom, but not before he raged: “So I’ll be your guy?”

Michaels went on to tell reporters on the call, “There was an incident before that came back from a gorilla. Grayson is a little worried about me.

“It’s been brewing down here for a while and I love him dearly. It’s one of those things where — I’ll say that. I worry about saying this stuff because everyone takes it too far, but it’s like where I made the joke about my hair, good lord punishing me.

“I always feel like those are the things where I handle the kid like the guy I was when I was younger. He’s just upset about some things that are going on here, which of course we’ll talk about later.”

Michaels, 57, added: “He’s always the same, he’s not that different on TV than in real life, I’ll give him that.”

Grayson then targeted “Corporate Shawn” on Twitter before announcing that he had been suspended from WWE for a week.

But the star then sarcastically tweeted several photos of fellow NXT Superstars posing with Michaels, captioning it, “I’m really sorry Shawn! leave me behind I promise I’ll take a nice picture with you like the other fans in the dressing room #WWENXT #ImSorry.”

WWE NXT airs Tuesday nights at 1am on BT Sport 1.
