Angle – an Olympic gold medalist – triumphantly returned to the organization in October 2017 after more than a decade.

The fan favorite became an honorary member of The Shield and appeared in a massive 5v3 table and ladder match, replacing injured Roman Reigns.

He had originally been knocked out when Strowman picked him up, hoisted the 220-pound star over his shoulder and executed a brutal running powerslam through a ring table.

The match featured a variety of high points, with Angle and teammates Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins eventually coming out on top.

And now the legendary wrestler has revealed exactly what Strowman said to him after the vicious ringside punch – and how it could easily have resulted in a serious injury.

On his podcast, Angle revealed, “You know what crazy is? You know, when he got me up, I didn’t have my arms around his waist. They were around his back.

“And he said, ‘Hold on to me.’ I’m like, ‘What are you talking about?’ He said, ‘Just clasp your hands, grab my waist.’

“And I reached around, and you know what? When I did that, I walked through the table much more confidently.

“If I hadn’t put my hands together or locked like that, it would have hurt a little more. Much more!”

Kurt’s team would defeat a dream cast of The Miz, Strowman, Kane, Cesaro, and Sheamus.

And while it was relatively early in Strowman’s career, the veteran was grateful for his crucial advice.

Angle continued, “Braun is the one who told me because I have no experience of TLC matches and going through charts.

“Actually Braun, who was quite young at the time, not a big career so far; I think he had maybe a few years.

“He’s the one who told me to hold on. It was really cool.”
