SASHA BANKS’ WWE career remains in doubt.
Seven-time WWE Women’s Champion Banks, also known as The Boss, has not performed in WWE since leaving RAW along with her tag team partner Naomi in May.
The two were subsequently suspended indefinitely from WWE, leaving fans wondering if their time with the organization was over.
While that question is yet to be answered conclusively, many on social media have suggested that Banks has essentially already done so.
As reported by Sportskeeda, fans recently noticed that the 30-year-old changed her Twitter name from her ring name to her real name, Mercedes Varnado.
Some have suggested it could portend a future at AEW, a move recently taken by Saraya, a former WWE star: “I’m sure like Ruby Soho, Athena, Toni Storm and Saraya a game changer in the women’s division of AEW.”
Another had a different opinion, saying: “It makes sense that Mercedes changes her twt user to her full name, she works outside of wwe so she should associate her real name on social platforms – she has ‘sasha banks – wwe “not removed” removed from her bio or removed the tag title tweet so let’s stay positive!”
However, one fan suggested this could all be a ruse: “I wouldn’t be surprised if she did this to deflect the smell of an imminent return, though.”
Back in August, Sportskeeda reported that Banks and Naomi had agreed to return to WWE — but that has yet to materialize.
And speaking to BT Sport in early September, WWE Head of Creative Triple H stated that “time will tell” when it comes to the organization and Sasha.
Triple H explained: “There was a communication disruption. Whatever the reason.
“Resuming that communication is not a difficult process, but it can be a process and you have to go through the process.
He continued, “But she’s an incredibly talented young woman who can do pretty much anything she wants.
It just depends what she wants to do with her life, her career, whatever.”
