Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have broken their own ‘unofficial rule’ at least SEVEN TIMES

RYAN REYNOLDS and Rob McElhenney have broken their own “unofficial rule” at least seven times on their way to promotion.

The co-owners of Wrexham are enjoying a summer of celebrations after the Red Dragons won the National League – including a post-season trip to Las Vegas.

This marks the Welsh club’s return to the EFL for the first time in 15 years.

And they did it despite threatening to ruin their memorable season.

The Hollywood couple agreed to stop hosting celebrity guests after last year’s FA Trophy final defeat.

But that was soon over – and a whole host of stars rocked the Racecourse Ground to roar in Wrexham.

McElhenney said: “We had an unofficial rule that we failed to abide by after losing in the FA Trophy Final at Wembley last year.”

“We decided not to have any more celebrities because they were just a bad luck charm.

“But I think we don’t have to worry about that anymore.”

A laughing Reynolds added RobRyanRed Podcast: “Yeah, it sort of worked.

“Will Ferrell saw a great game. Emma Corrin also saw a great game.”

“Glen Howerton, Charlie Day and Kaitlin Olson saw a great film.

“We had Paul and Joe Russo. You saw exactly what ended the whole thing. I mean, that was just the most incredible thing.”

Ferrell even met with fans at the pub ahead of Wrexham’s clash with Wealdstone in February – two months after King Charles’ visit.

But it’s always sunny in Philadelphia. Star Day got into trouble after breaking a strict British law that doesn’t apply in America – the ban on alcohol given the pitch.

McElhenney added, “He was the only one who got caught drinking because he didn’t know.”

“I mean, what people really don’t understand is that Americans don’t understand this rule, we didn’t know that was a rule.”

“So he was sitting outside in the box having a beer and nobody noticed or said anything and someone took a still and texted it to me.
