WORLD Snooker Tour bosses have vowed to investigate Matt Selt for sending sick insults to an autistic fan on Instagram.
The Daily Star claims Selt, unaware the person was autistic, called the snooker fan a “mong” in a series of shocking messages.
He also branded fellow snooker player Ronnie O’Sullivan a “c***” in a screenshot exchange with the fan.
Selt, 37, world No. 21, was the first to respond when the supporter asked if he would play O’Sullivan at the current World Championship – although Selt was not at the tournament.
Selt responded by calling O’Sullivan a “C***” and “biggest p**** on tour” before the fan said, “Oh, very jealous.”
Selt then fired back, “F*****g donut. Another Ronnie King. Mong.”
The exchange continued with Selt adding: “You’re a boring c*** aren’t you?
“You still have a poster of Ronnie on your wall. Just ***. Bit like you.”
When the fan asked for a poster of Selt, the snooker player said: “You’d probably be upset about it. Perverse.”
Finally, the fan called Selt a “great ambassador” for the sport.
To which Selt replied: “Reply to my fans? That’s what I do. Give people what they want.”
Selt declined to comment when contacted by the star.
However, a spokesperson for the World Snooker Tour said: “This matter has been referred to the WPBSA’s Head of Integrity and is being investigated.”
Selt, who does not play in the World Snooker Championship, reached the final of the Turkish Open last month before losing 4-10 to Judd Trump.
He has a ranking title after winning the 2019 Indian Open and defeating Lyu Haotian 5-3.
