Women’s Chamber honors business leader of the year

(COLORADO SPRINGS) – Linda Weise, CEO of the Colorado Springs Community Cultural Collective, has been named Accolades Business Leader of the Year, a program of the Southern Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce (SCWCC).

On Tuesday, August 15, a luncheon and gala hosted by FOX21’s Abbie Burke and Olympian Jackie Joyner-Kersee as the keynote speaker honored Weise alongside other community business leaders. More than 700 people attended the lunch.

According to the SCWCC, Accolades has been recognizing business achievements for 29 years.

Weise was recognized for her decades of service to the community through the Colorado Springs Conservatory, as well as for her role in the renovation of the century-old City Auditorium and the creation of new hospitality and theater engineering workforce programs.

“Celebrating women in business is just one aspect of the SCWCC, alongside business development, leadership and business training,” said Lola Woloch, CEO of SCWCC. “We are always happy to recognize the success of successful women in southern Colorado. It’s important that we look to these women as role models for those who come after us.”

Also with awards was De’Aura Lemus, strategy and culture specialist at The Resource Exchange, for Young Professional of the Year. Beauty Bar owner Uyen Lee received the Minority-Owned Business of the Year award. Travis Bockenstedt received the Member of the Year award. dr Cristi Bundakamara won the Don Brown Entrepreneur Award. She is the owner of Mentally STRONG, a local behavioral health clinic.

Proceeds from SCWCC’s Accolades Silent Auction support programs and scholarships for women through the SCWCC Foundation.
