Woman in her 80s dies at Derriford Hospital after being blown over from a hospital helipad

A WOMAN in her 80s died after landing at Derriford Hospital and being blown over by a helicopter.
Two other people were injured when the plane landed at a heliport in Plymouth, Devon.
One person is being treated for her injuries and remains hospitalized while another woman died.
The Maritime and Coastguard Agency confirmed that the helicopter was flying a patient to the hospital at the time of the incident.
The woman is believed to have been blown over during the incident.
A Department for Transport spokesman said: “Our deepest sympathy goes out to those affected by the incident at Derriford Hospital.
“It would be inappropriate to comment while the incident is being investigated by Devon and Cornwall Police and the Air Accident Investigation Branch.”
A spokeswoman for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency said a HM Coastguard helicopter had flown a patient to Derriford Hospital and “on landing there was an incident which is now being investigated by police and the Air Accidents Investigation Branch”.
