The film is reportedly in post-production with writer/director Rhys Frake-Waterfield and stars Amber Doig-Thorne, Maria Taylor and Danielle Scott.
According to the film’s IMDb page, the film is a grisly retelling of the “Legend” of Winnie the Pooh, and a synopsis reads, “It follows Pooh and Piglet on a rampage after Christopher Robin abandons them.”
After seeing the first snaps from the film, fans immediately took to Twitter to express their divided opinions.
Some were shocked by the images, with one person saying: “The Winnie the Pooh horror movie is here to ruin your childhood.”
Another joked, “The Winnie the Pooh horror movie looks like a Purge ripoff.”
A third person tweeted, “Now that’s a Winnie the Pooh I can stand behind!” and a fourth added, “Can’t believe there’s going to be a Winnie the Pooh horror movie omg.”
Another commented: “About the Winnie the Pooh horror movie. WTH? Why? This will leave some people with nightmares. Good luck with your project.”
And another stunned fan tweeted: “How the heck did you turn a Winnie the Pooh into a horror movie…Hollywood please find a good psychologist.”
Some were unsure about the film, with one person writing: “Winnie the Pooh was my childhood too. I have mixed feelings but I would watch it just to have a laugh.”
