Winner of ‘Drag Race Canada’: [Spoiler] Winning part 2 – Final summary

The words “Queen of the North” were said many times during Thursday’s finale of Canadian drag race, we half expected Sansa Stark to appear on the main stage as Beetlejuice.

Sadly, this is not Game of Thrones cross of our dreams. Instead, it found the three remaining contestants – Icesis Couture, Kendall Gender and Pythia – recording and performing their own verses on Brooke Lynn Hytes’ single “Queen of the North,” which is not the song. songs that we knew existed before watching this episode. (It looks like Canada’s landlady learned a few marketing tricks from Mama Ru.)

The finale also welcomed the reigning Miss Priyanka, who joined the finalists in a series of selfies. It was really cute watching Priyanka you along with her potential successors. Like most nice Canadians, she gets along well with others.

Now, let’s talk about the odds: While any of these queens are likely to win, Pythia entered the finale with a slight edge over her opponent. She and Icesis have both won two challenges this season, but Pythia has never finished in the last two places, while Icesis has had to lip-sync her life multiple times. Meanwhile, Kendall has one win under his arm and only once fell to the bottom.

For the queen’s big show, the whole thing was just a shrug. Their verses are fine, if not somewhat generic, and all bring the same look and feel to the stage. It’s not “bad,” but it’s also not going to go down the aisle with the likes of “Read U Wrote U” and “Kitty Girl.”

For their final runway presentations, Icesis stepped out in a gorgeous, angelic white gown, adding a freaky little mouthpiece to keep things interesting; Kendall aims to “show off my skin” with an “elegant, edgy” look; and Pythia made everyone gasp when she appeared to look like a statue of a goddess from the time of Ancient Greece. (We don’t think Pythia can outshine her previous looks, from glamor two-headed beauty to a literal centaur, but this might have done it.)

But before the judges can reveal their decision, they need to see the queens compete in one more lip-sync. After the passionate three-dimensional performance of Celine Dion’s “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now”, Priyanka returned to the stage to crown… Icesis Couture!
