Tennis fans today witnessed Carlos Alcaraz end Novak Djokovic’s SW19 reign of terror.

The Spaniard emerged victorious from a five-set thriller after coming from behind.

However, for some curious Wimbledon fans, the result was disappointing given the presence of the royal family.

The Princess of Wales played the role of trophy giver and impressed in an all green ensemble to match the pitch.

As Kate entered the pitch from the stands, she paused to shake hands with the ball boys and girls at the sides.

However, viewers couldn’t help but notice that she didn’t interact with the first ball boy, instead moving to the second before making her way downstairs.

It’s unlikely it was intentional.

But it was an uncomfortable sight as the expressionless ball boy maintained his cool composure.

And some fans were heartbroken by the encounter.

One said: “Kate Middleton completely blanked the first ball boy and shook hands with everyone else, poor bastard.”

Another explained: “Kate Middleton ignores the first ball boy in the lineup…”

One noted: “Kate came out on the court and spoke to the ball boys and girls. But didn’t she miss the first ball boy? What do you think he thinks of that?”

Another replied: “It was very strange, not to mention it was unfortunate and embarrassing for the poor boy.”
