The Mystery of Taiwan’s Cloak and Dagger, Light up the night, returns for a second season on Netflix on December 30, 2021. Written by Ryan Tu and directed by Lien Yi-Chi, the series stars Ruby Lin, Yo Yang, Cheryl Yang, Rhydian Vaughan, Derek Chang, Puff Kuo and Esther Liu.

The plot of Light up the night season 2 continues from the end of season 1, where the victim is revealed to be Sue. As the season delves deeper into Rose and Sue’s background and their intertwined journeys to become hostesses at Light, the quest killer still continue.
Light up the night Season 2 has as many secrets as it does about the events leading up to Sue’s death. New details and characters are revealed and the plot becomes more complicated with each introduction. Everyone seems like a potential suspect, but Wen-cheng hasn’t been able to narrow down on anyone yet.
With the drive to change power at the club, reveal about Sue’s pastand new threats from the drug mafia, Light up the night season 2 is one hell of a ride. Without much spoilt, the series will keep viewers interested to find answers, but still have to find clarity.
Will there be a third season?
Light up the night was originally written as a 24-volume series, of which only 16 volumes have been released to date as a two-part series. The second part ends in a large cave in the cliff with more mysteries created than solved. Chiang Xin’s fatal accident and a strange pair of eyes in the rearview mirror left a lot to be answered in a potential third season.
According to reports, the series has been ordered 24 episodes, for more than 250 million Taiwan dollars. Thus, the unsolved mystery of the killer and the remaining eight episodes warrants a third season for Light up the night. As for when to air the third season, one can expect early 2022 as the timeframe for release.

Since the second season was released more than a month after the first, it’s likely that the third season is almost done filming. Viewers can expect the main cast to reprise their roles for season three of Light up the night and the plot should continue right after Chiang Xin’s accident. However, it remains to be seen what the third installment will bring, as the wait for the official trailer is ongoing.
