GIVE Will Smith a fresh start.

That’s a request from a former co-star as the disgraced actor tries to make a big Hollywood comeback after the slap was heard “around the world”.

It’s been more than seven months since Will climbed onto the Oscars stage to slap presenter Chris Rock after the comedian made a poorly received joke about Will’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

Now the Oscar winner is gearing up for the release of his first film since the slap.

Emancipation, debuting on Apple+, tells the story of a runaway slave, played by Will, who embarks on a perilous journey to reunite his family.

But as the film nears its December release date, the stigma of the slap still hovers over it.

Speaking exclusively to the US Sun, Wills Wild Wild West co-star Bai Ling said it’s time to forgive.

“People make mistakes,” Bai said. “The mistake he made was not good. It must be recognized and changed.”

Bai expanded and said that we all fall, but now it’s time to get back up.

“When he comes back, he’ll be a much better person,” she continued. “He will have more power in humility and influence people.

ROCK HARD

But the recipient of Will’s Wrath, Chris Rock, apparently doesn’t think so.

The former SNL star has so far refused to accept Will’s apology and is refusing to meet with him.

In July, after months of silence, Will finally formally apologized to Chris and asked the actor to “talk to him about it.”

The Men in Black star posted an apology video on YouTube, in which he answers why he didn’t apologize to Chris in his acceptance speech.

The actor said he “suffered trauma” because he “didn’t live up to the image and people’s impression of me.”

Will continued, “I’m human and I made a mistake and I’m trying not to think of myself as a piece of shit.”

BATTLE NIGHT

At the March ceremony, Chris presented the win for best documentary when he deviated from the script.

“Jada I love you GI Jane 2 can’t wait to see it,” Chris tried to joke.

Demi Moore shaved her head for her role in the 1997 film.

Jada, on the other hand, has struggled with hair loss for years and last year decided to shave it all off.

Will took offense at the joke and stormed the stage before hitting the host with a right hook.

Audio and video transmissions in the US were cut off for several seconds during the shocking incident.

However, international channels broadcast the entire violent encounter between the two stars.

After the confrontation, a stunned Chris said, “Will Smith just kicked the shit out of me.”

When the video restarted, Will looked furious as he yelled at the comedian, “Keep my wife’s name out of your friggin’ mouth.”
