Will Smith “was still mad” at Chris Rock’s 2016 joke about wife Jada when he slapped the comic in the face at the Oscars

WILL Smith was reportedly “still pissed” about Chris Rock’s dig at his wife Jada in 2016, when he slammed the comic at the Oscars.
Six years ago, the comedian, 57, targeted Jada, 50, in his opening monologue for boycotting the Oscars for lack of diversity.

Chris hinted in his speech at the time that Jada couldn’t snub the Oscars that year because she wasn’t invited in the first place.
He said: “What happened this year? Spike went insane. Jada got angry. Will got angry. Everyone got angry.”
He continued: “Jada got mad? Jada says she’s not coming. She protests. Isn’t she on a TV show? Jada will boycott the Oscars?
“Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna’s panties. I wasn’t invited.”

A source told People: “When Chris was hosting the Oscars in 2016, Jada boycotted Oscars So White.
“In his monologue he made fun of her and said she couldn’t boycott anything she wasn’t invited to. Will was still angry about it.”
On Sunday night, Will, 53, shocked viewers and viewers when he slapped Chris on stage for making another joke about Jada.
The stand-up comic referenced Jada’s shaved head as he said, “Jada I love you GI Jane 2 can’t wait to see it.”

Demi Moore shaved her head for her role in the 1997 film.
Jada, on the other hand, has struggled with hair loss due to alopecia for years and last year decided to shave it all off.
Will then stormed the stage and met the presenter in what at first appeared like a stage play.
He then headed back to his seat as a stunned Chris said, “Will Smith just kicked the shit out of me.”
SHOCKING SHOCK
Will yelled at the comedian, “Keep my wife’s name out of your damn mouth.”
Looking visibly shaken, Chris said, “Wow dude, it was a GI Jane joke,” to which Will repeated, “Keep my wife’s name out of your friggin’ mouth!”
Chris said, “I will, okay?” before adding, “That was the … greatest night in television history.”
He then presented the award for the best documentary film.
VOLTAGE HIGH
During the commercial break, Will was reportedly pulled aside and comforted by Sean Combs and Tyler Perry.
The Men In Black actor appeared to wipe tears from his eyes as his fellow actors urged him to wipe them away.
Later that evening, Will accepted the Best Actor award for his role as Richard Williams in King Richard.
He was slammed for not apologizing for the slap and instead defending the act, calling himself a “fierce defender” of his family.
“Richard Williams was a fierce defender of his family,” Will, 53, began his speech.
He later added: “I want to apologize to the Academy, I want to apologize to all my fellow nominees. This is a beautiful moment and I’m not crying because I won an award…”
“Love will make you do crazy things,” Will said as he burst into tears during his speech.
The star concluded by saying he hopes “the academy invites me back”.
FAN GAME
However, the A-lister didn’t mention Chris at all, which prompted many angry fans to take to Twitter and rip Will up.
One wrote: “Sorry Will Smith’s acceptance speech is no apology for his actions.”
Another said: “In Will Smith’s speech he says he was called to love people. Yes, by teaching them to turn the other cheek… after slapping them in the face.”
More reactions rolled in, with one chiming in: “During his extremely lengthy acceptance speech, Will Smith never apologized to Chris Rock for hitting him.”
In 2018, Jade opened up about her “hair loss struggles” during an episode of her Facebook Watch show Red Table Talk.

She explained: “When it started, it was terrifying. One day I was in the shower with only a handful of hair in my hands and I was like, ‘Oh my god, am I going bald?’
“It was one of those moments in my life where I was literally shaking with fear. That’s why I cut my hair and I still cut it…”
