Will Ospreay Call AEW’s Jon Moxley

Shortly after returning to AEW and GCW, “Death Rider” Jon Moxley is scheduled to return to NJPW at the April 16 Windy City Riot show in Chicago. The former AEW world champion has been involved in the promotion program since he left WWE, winning the IWGP US title on two separate occasions.

While Moxley last year sent NJPW legends Yuji Nagata, Satoshi Kojima and Minoru Suzukia former IWGP world heavyweight champion is still waiting for his shot at the Purveyor of Violence. Will Ospreay reacted to Moxley’s return announcement with disdain, stating his displeasure at not being seen as a potential competitor:

Ospreay was off to a great start through 2022, teaming up with his United Empire colleagues Jeff Cobb and Great-O-Khan to win Wrestle Kingdom Night 1. Then he did. challenged Kazuchika Okada for the World Heavyweight title on Night 2 of NJPW’s flagship event.

Ospreay then had to quickly dust off his Warrior Wrestling title against another AEW star, Brian Cage, and then the RevPro British title against Michael Oku just a week later. Ospreay is currently one of NJPW’s top stars and would be a great contender for someone of Moxley’s caliber.

Bryan Danielson had a unique recommendation for Jon Moxley on AEW Dynamite

Jon Moxley, like Will Ospreay, had a busy January, making his All Elite come back to beat Ethan Page and Wheeler Yuta in consecutive weeks. His winning tour of Tony Khan’s ascent was closely watched by Bryan Danielson.

For Bryan, the first thing that popped up was the observation for his next match which was instead revealed to be looking for a potential partner. Bryan made his offer to the former Shield member on Dynamite this week, naming talented young prospects in Daniel Garcia, Lee Moriarty and Wheeler Yuta as potential backers for the two.

Whether or not Moxley was involved has yet to be determined, as he hesitated long enough for Bryan to give him time to weigh in. There’s no denying, however, that a group of young technical prodigies led by Moxley and Danielson will be a significant presence in AEW.
