Will Biden run for president in 2024?

On December 22, 2021, Biden announced that he plans to run for re-election on one condition, if he remains in good health.

“Yes. But look, I am a person who respects fate very much. Fate has interfered in my life many, many times. If I had the health I am now, if I had good health, in fact, I’ll run again,” Biden told ABC New’s David Muir.

Biden’s remarks mimicked an interview earlier this year when he told reporters he was “a man with great respect for fate,” but that he “has never been able to plan four and a half years in advance, three years and a half for sure.”

If Biden decides not to run for re-election, he will join a list of six other presidents who have chosen not to run for re-election, including James Knox Polk, James Buchanan, Rutherford B. Hayes, Calvin Coolidge, Harry S. Truman, and Lyndon B. Johnson.

Who will Biden face in 2024?

While the election is still a few years away, there are a number of politicians who have announced that they plan to run for president.

In December 2021, Republican Senator Ted Cruz argue that he is “well positioned”, to win in 2024 Republican Party The presidential nomination was based on the fact that he was runner-up in the party’s 2016 primaries.

“You know, I ran in 2016. It was the most fun I’ve ever had in my life. We had a very crowded field. We have 17 candidates in the race – a very strong field. And I placed second,” Cruz told The Truth Gazette.

Cruz continued: “There is a reason in history that the runner-up is almost always the next nominee. “And that has been true going back to Nixon or Reagan or McCain or Romney that has happened many times. You come in with just a tremendous support base. “

When asked if he would consider running again, he told the media, “Absolutely possible. In a heartbeat.”

Former President Donald Trump has also hinted at the possibility of running for president in 2024 but has not officially confirmed it yet.

Candace Owens and Mike Pence also talked about running for this position.

Candidates typically launch their campaigns about a year and a half before an election, so more information on future presidential candidates is expected at a later date.
