MIDLAND, Texas (Nexstar) – Beginning Monday, January 24, through Wednesday, January 26, a USDA Wildlife Service employee will use a device known as a “machine” bird dam” to deter animals in the Midland Drive and Loop 250 areas.
The bird gun was fired from a hand-held launcher that looked similar to a handgun and flew about 100 feet through the air before making a loud, thunderous noise. People in the area could hear loud noises starting at dusk while the device was deployed.
According to a release, the device will not harm the birds and is simply meant to deter them.
