Wife’s chilling words to paramedics emerge after her husband drove her and their children off a cliff in a Tesla

The wife of the man who drove his Tesla off a cliff told paramedics the act was premeditated, prosecutors said.
The vehicle crashed into a rocky cliff beach in northern California on January 2, seriously injuring Dharmesh Patel, his wife Neha and their two children.

Dharmesh, the driver of the car, had increased the charges against him on Monday.
He now faces charges of attempted murder and child molestation, with pleas on domestic violence and aggravated assault
The increased charges are the result of testimony from Patel’s wife, Neha Patel.
San Mateo District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe told the Los Angeles Times Monday that Neha told emergency responders, “He deliberately tried to kill us.”

“She just said it wasn’t an accident,” Wagstaffe said.
Neha remains in the hospital while she continues to recover from the incident.
She has not been interviewed since the incident, Wagstaffe told People.
“She has an attorney and we have been advised by the attorney that at this time while she is in hospital she is not attempting to submit to an interview,” he said.
The couple’s two children were treated and turned over to other family members.
Officials continue to investigate the crash – and the Tesla involved.
“CHP investigators worked throughout the night interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence from the crime scene,” the California Highway Patrol said in a statement.
“Based on the evidence gathered, investigators have likely developed reason to believe that this incident was a premeditated act.”
We’re having the car checked from top to bottom,” Wagstaffe told The Times on Monday.
However, the motive remains a mystery.
“There were three people that we believe tried to kill,” Wagstaffe told People.
“He obviously wanted to kill himself too. And that was an attempt to be a murder-suicide.”
“Why should he do that? I am now convinced that this was a deliberate act on his part.”
“But why did he do that then?

Patel has not yet filed a plea.
He is scheduled to appear in court again on February 9.
