A mother of three has revealed how she shares her husband with another woman.
Andrea Brown, 46, had been married to Adrian Brown, 34, for 10 years when they decided to invite Julie Vigil, 38, into their marriage.
Now the throuple from Colorado, USA, is sharing a king-size bed, and Julie has become Andrea and Adrian’s ‘wife’, having recently tied the knot.
While some find their marriage unconventional, Andrea insists the polyamorous group is the happiest they’ve ever been.
Andrea, a paralegal, says: “Adrian and I were happy together, but Julie made us complete.
“I am so grateful and lucky to have not one, but two amazing partners who love me.
“We don’t care what society thinks, we’re head over heels in love.”
Growing up, Andrea was always attracted to both men and women.
She says: “I married my first husband when I was 19 and we had three wonderful children.
“We had an open marriage and regularly had passionate nights with different women.
“But over time, I realized that I wanted more than just sex. I longed for an intimate connection with another woman.”
In 2007, after 13 years together, Andrea’s marriage came to an end.
After that, she decided that she only wanted to date women.
But the following year, 2008, Andrea met tattoo artist Adrian online.
Andrea says: “Adrian and I both loved tattoos and music. We were so alike.
“Even though I was determined to find a woman, Adrian and I went on a date and we had an amazing connection.
“So I decided I had to be honest with him from the start.
“I told Adrian that I like women and that I’ve had open relationships in the past.
“Even though Adrian was only monogamous before, he said he’s excited to try something new.”
Andrea and Adrian immediately became a couple.
They immediately started dating women in bars and online, and if they liked them, they invited them to share their bed.
A year later, Adrian proposed Andrea.
She says: “Rather than going monogamous, his proposal actually made me realize that I still longed for a deeper connection with a woman. Not just sex.
“So Adrian and I agreed to find someone to join us after we got married.”
In January 2010, the couple got married and after that they started looking for a third partner for their marriage.
Two years later, in 2012, they met Julie, a nail designer, on a dating website.
Andrea says: “My bio said I was married but in an open relationship.
“Julie, who was monogamous, was very curious and asked me a lot of questions.
“She was beautiful and kind.
“We chatted non-stop online until one night I invited her over for dinner to meet Adrian and I.
“Adrian was just as smitten as I was. But unfortunately, Julie wasn’t ready to commit and wanted to be girlfriends.”
For the next eight years, Andrea, Adrian and Julie remained friends and met regularly to eat and drink.
Andrea says: “Julie and I became best friends and we went shopping and got our nails done together.
“Meanwhile, Adrian and I were dating other women, and Julie was also involved.
“But deep down, I longed to be with her. Adrian too.”
In 2018, Julie welcomed a son and it wasn’t until two years later, after coming to terms with a loss in her family, that she became closer to the couple.
Andrea says: “Julie was grieving for her father and we were there to support her every step of the way.
“We grew closer and it also made her realize how short life really was.
“Then one night she confessed that she wanted to be with us.
“Adrian and I were beaming and we immediately asked her to be our girlfriend.
“That night things came together and the three of us slept together. It felt so natural and perfect.”
From that day forward, Andrea, Adrian and Julie became a polyamorous triad.
They soon settled into a routine.
Andrea says: “Two of us cooked dinner while the other did the dishes.
“At night we went to our king size bed.
“Since Julie and Adrian can’t stand the heat, I always slept in the middle.
“Julie felt like the missing piece in our puzzle.”
Six months later, in October 2020, Andrea and Adrian proposed to Julie.
Because it was illegal to have more than one wife in Colorado, where they lived, they opted for a non-legally binding marriage.
In September 2021, the couple married in a park in front of their family and friends.
Andrea says: “The wedding didn’t have to be official. What mattered was the commitment we made.
“Adrian and Julie both looked fantastic on the day. When we all said our vows, it was the best moment of my life.
“Unfortunately, my mother chose not to be there, which hurt. But we still had 200 guests and the day was filled with love.
“Now Adrian, Julie and I have moved into a new house to accommodate us all.
“Adrian and I share a room and Julie has her own bedroom, but we all sleep together when we like.
“My children are grown, but Julie’s youngest sons live with us and we are one big happy family.”
