Why won’t N’Golo Kante play for France against Morocco at the 2022 World Cup?

FRANCE are up against Morocco in the World Cup semifinals tonight – but without N’Golo Kante.
Didier Deschamps released his 26-man squad list ahead of the tournament, with the Chelsea midfielder absent.

Kante was an integral part of Les Blues who won the 2018 World Cup, with the then 27-year-old playing every minute for the national team.
Now, four years later, the rise of young talents like Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni has brought Kante with intensified competition for a mid-table spot.
And he is not in action for France as they face Morocco in the semifinals.
Why isn’t N’Golo Kante playing for France at the World Cup?
The absence of the midfielder will be a blow to France, who face Denmark this week, and Chelsea, whose recent poor defensive record shows.
The Blues number six has been sidelined for four months with a hamstring injury in the 2-2 draw with Tottenham in August.

The injury has meant Kante will miss an opportunity to help France become only the third team to retain the World Cup.
Provided the 31-year-old is able to recover, it likely looks like we’ll see him back in action soon after the season has resumed.
