Why was Game 3 of the MLB World Series postponed and when will it be played?

NOT the first time a game has been postponed this postseason.

Major League Baseball announced Monday that Game 3 of the World Series between the Houston Astros and the Philadelphia Phillies has been postponed.

The series is currently 1:1

Corresponding MLB CommunicationsThe decision was made because of inclement weather, including rain, on Monday night’s forecast for Philadelphia.

The game originally scheduled for Monday, October 31st at 8:03pm ET will now be played on Tuesday, November 1st at 8:30pm ET.

This also pushes the whole series back by one day.

Games 4 and 5 will take place on Wednesday and Thursday (assuming they aren’t rescheduled as well), while Friday is a travel day if necessary.

Should the series go to Games 6 and 7, those will take place in Houston on Saturday and Sunday.

All games begin at 8:03 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on Fox and Fox Deportes.

Tickets remain valid for the respective game numbers.

Ironically, this is far from the first time bad weather has struck a World Series in Philadelphia.

As noted by Matt yellowGame 3 in 1993, 2008 and 2009 were all postponed due to rain at Citizens Bank Park.
