Why isn’t the Costco aisle labeled?

COSTCO is a fan favorite when it comes to bulk groceries and home goods.

Most people think they’re saving when they go to the big box retailer, but the truth is, they’re probably spending more than they think they are.

There’s a reason the store aisle isn’t labeled

As you may have noticed, the Costco aisles are not labeled like regular grocery stores.

There’s no such thing as a “chips and crackers” aisle or a “breakfast and cereal” aisle – and that’s the point.

BUT WHY?

Instead of going to the aisle with the items everyone went to the store, customers had to walk up and down different areas.

This means they may end up putting something in their cart that they don’t want to buy.

Fortunately, unlike other major retailers like Walmart, which have around 120,000 products on display, Costco typically has less than 4,000 – so it shouldn’t be too difficult to find what they need.

WHY IS FOOD SO CHEAP?

As for why roast chicken and sausages are so cheap, there’s also a strategic reason for that.

While the hot dog and drink combo is only $1.50 – a price that hasn’t changed in years – and the roast chicken costs just $5, they are placed in the back of the store so customers have to wander around. other avenues before reaching great deals.

Who knows? On your way to finding a cheap yet delicious lunch, you may stumble across the gap you’ve been thinking about buying.

WHAT ABOUT KIRKLAND BRAND?

Shoppers should take comfort in knowing that, when they buy Costco – aka Kirkland – brand merchandise, they’re getting a lot of deals.

Kirkland products cost less than brand name products but are actually very high quality.

An example is wine. That $20 bottle of Kirkland probably came from a prized vineyard.

Costco takes fine wine from the top growers and sells it at incredibly low prices because they can afford it.

With more than 100 million people around the world with a Costco card ($60 a year for a basic gold membership and $120 for an executive membership), retailers can get items at discounted prices. .
