JENNIFER “Jen” Shah is best known as an American television personality who starred in The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
On March 13, 2022, it was revealed that the star had rejected a plea deal in her ongoing legal drama and now fans want to know why she has to. court.
Why is Jen Shah on trial?
She has accused of operating a telemarketing scam targeted hundreds of elderly people across the country along with many accomplices.
In April 2021, Shah pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to commit electronic fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering charges.
Even though she pleads not guilty Stuart Smith, her former assistant and alleged accomplicepleaded guilty in November 2021 to one count of conspiracy to commit fraud involving telemarketing, one count of conspiracy to launder money and one count of obstruction of an official proceeding.
After the arrest, the star was criticized by fans for “lie” and said her husband was hospitalized for internal bleeding as others also labeled her a “pathological liar” and “not even a good or intelligent liar.”
Shah’s trial is scheduled to begin in July 2022.
Why did Jen Shah refuse a plea deal?
In the third part of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Reunion season 2 Shah touched on her legal issues where she revealed exactly why she turned down a plea deal.
“I am fighting with this. I’m innocent“Shah said, passed Page six. “And I’m going to fight for all the people out there who can’t fight for themselves because they don’t have the resources or the means, so they don’t fight.”
