What is Black Friday?
Retail prices drop sharply for 24 hours on Black Friday to get people to splash the cash in the run up to Christmas.
Although in recent years Black Friday, especially online, has evolved into a two-week shopping event, with retailers competing to launch their sales as early as possible, hoping to attract shoppers first.
In the States, customers often queue for hours or even days to snag the best bargains.
Many stores have yet to make an official announcement about Black Friday and whether they will open on Thanksgiving night.
Several others such as Walmart, Sam’s Club, Best Buy and JCPenney will be closed for the holidays because of the pandemic.
Instead, many deals are posted on their websites to avoid long overnight lines and crowds.
Crowds of people are more reticent in the UK, with the majority of Britons choosing to shop online in recent years.
But sadly, the UK shopping frenzy has been known to escalate into violence as people bicker over discounted gadgets and gadgets.
When is Black Friday 2022?
This year, Black Friday takes place on November 25th, followed by Cyber Monday on November 28th.
Many stores post early deals ahead of the sales, so keep an eye out for bargains from early November.
