Although official Twitter account for Footaction did not make a public announcement, several shoe news outlets have released information on the status of the stores.
The Just Fresh Kicks account tweeted: “Footaction will officially close (site + store) on February 1st.”
The tweet was posted on January 27, 2022.
Just Fresh Kicks has over 160k followers on the app and says it posts “Sneaker news, release dates, launch links, additional alerts and more. Also follow the dashboard. control.”

The Outlet reports that Foot Locker’s parent company announced that it will close the majority of its 231 Footaction stores within the next two years.
Footaction stores will close when the lease expires, Best Life reported.

When was Footaction founded?
The shoe retailer was founded in 1976 by Charles Cristol.
Foot Locker was established on September 12, 1974, in Industrial City, CA.
In 2004, Foot Locker acquires Footaction USA brands and about 350 stores from Footstar for $350 million.
According to InvestopediaFoot Locker also owns three other brands: Eastbay, Runners Point Group, and GOAT Group.
