Why did Trisha Paytas leave the Frenemies Podcast?
In 2020, Trisha Paytas resurfaced online after they teamed up with Ethan Klein to host the YouTube podcast Frenemies.
The two addressed social issues on the show and called out other online creators for problematic behavior.
During a June 8, 2021 episode of Frenemies, Paytas and Klein got into an argument over the work they had put into the podcast.
Paytas claimed that they bring a lot of ideas to the table for podcast episodes and vlogs that don’t make it to the air.

The YouTuber also claimed that Klein “recycles” content from his other podcast, The H3 Podcast.
Klein’s production company h3h3 Productions produces Frenemies, The H3 Podcast and H3 After Dark.
Paytas also expressed frustration that they don’t have a say in hiring the crew.
What did Paytas say about her departure on YouTube?
On the same day their heated argument took place, Paytas uploaded a video titled “Stepping down from frenemies” to her YouTube channel, which has since been deleted.
“I had this feeling in my heart that I needed to retire from Frenemies and it’s really with a heavy heart that I say that,” Paytas said in the video.
“It’s been my stability, my regular once-a-week thing, which I’m absolutely looking forward to. I really love doing the show.”
Paytas then said they read the comments on the latest Frenemies episode where viewers expressed their frustration with Paytas.
They also claimed that Klein claimed the crew was also upset with Paytas and didn’t want to film a pre-planned vlog episode with them.
“What threw me off is that I was talking about gay rights and hate crimes against gay people and transgender people, and I really wanted to talk about it, and he was talking about me,” Paytas said.
During the episode, Klein and Paytas then moved on to another segment that new producer Klein reportedly set up.

“I put out so many ideas for this show,” Paytas said.
“I really feel like I built this show with them, 50-50.”
“I don’t feel comfortable walking into something Ethan built … If I had known I was coming in as the third H3 show, I swear I wouldn’t have.”
Paytas went on to say that they hope Klein will continue Frenemies with another co-host, but that it’s no longer working for them.
The 34-year-old has since switched to other platforms like OnlyFans and is very frequent on YouTube videos of her pregnancy journey with husband Moses Hacmon.
What did Ethan Klein say about Paytas’ decision to step down?
On June 8, almost immediately after Paytas posted video announcing her departure, Klein took to Twitter to address her comments.
Klein claimed he didn’t know they were leaving the show until he saw the video earlier that day.
“I’m frankly disappointed with this whole thing,” Klein said wrote.
“Trisha’s video this morning was a total surprise to me. I really don’t know what else to say or do.

“I’m very sorry for all Frenemies fans. I know how much it meant to everyone. I did everything humanly possible to save it.”
Klein also confirmed that their June episode would be the “final” Frenemies episode, marking the end of the podcast series.
