But what is Poznan and why do City fans do it?
What is posing?
Posing is a football Celebration where fans walk shoulder to shoulder and jump up and down together with their backs to the field.
Several clubs in Eastern Europe claimed to have created the celebration, but it was reportedly created by Polish club Lech Poznan.
And that usually happens when a team dominates the game or has won the game.
However, it is believed that the first action was taken as a protest against the club’s management while supporting the team.
Why are Man City fans making the Poznan game?
Manchester City first celebrated this celebration on the evening of 21 October 2010 when Emmanuel Adebayor scored a hat-trick on his return to European football.
The lively 6,000 Poznań Lech fans who traveled with them demonstrated their unmistakable support.
But Adebayor’s goals quickly had City fans emulating the popular celebration.
And it’s now ingrained, quickly becoming a new part of the matchday ritual.
