ENGLAND will take on Hungary in a bid to avenge their defeat in Budapest last week.
The Three Lions lost 1-0 in their UEFA Nations League away game in front of 40,000 children.
But they will have to adjust to a different environment when they face the Hungarians in the West Midlands instead of Wembley.
Why are England playing Hungary at Molineux instead of Wembley?
England played Italy in Molineux after the weekend after Uefa ordered the game to be played behind closed doors.
The Three Lions were banned from the stadium in the final of the EM 2020 against the Italians due to spectator problems.
However, thanks to a change in Uefa rules, three thousand children were invited to watch the game.
And following Uefa’s decision, the FA decided to rent out Wembley for Capital Radio’s Summertime Ball on Sunday.
England also play Hungary at home in the Molineux on Tuesday night.
This game will be played in front of a full audience, tickets will be sold as usual.
Since the team was already playing against Italy at the Wolves Stadium, it was decided to use the same venue for the game against Hungary.
what was said
England boss Gareth Southgate told the FA website in February: “Although Wembley is our home, we like to take the squad on the road whenever we can, especially in the run-up to a big tournament.
“2022 promises to be an exciting adventure for England fans and it’s great that one of English football’s iconic stadiums will be a part of it.
“I know from my time managing the U21s how much a Molineux crowd embraces the experience of international football so we look forward to returning to Wolverhampton in June.”
