All the light we can’t see, Anthony Doerr’s critically acclaimed Pulitzer Prize-winning book, is being adapted into a four-part series for Netflix. Set during the Second World War, this period drama follows a blind teenage girl and an orphaned young man who play an important role in the Nazi war effort.
The two are on separate paths and on opposite sides of the war that is dividing Europe. In the book, their path eventually passes through Nazi-occupied France. This is a story about the wonder of knowledge, the hope it can bring, and the devastating intolerance and ignorance that bring it to awakening.
We look forward to All the light we can’t see being a challenging watch, not only in its subject matter, but also in our understanding of the two main characters and the choices, circumstances and challenges that lay before them as children. and at the onset of adulthood.
So far, only three actors have been announced but among them are a newcomer and two heavyweights who have been lighting up screens for decades.
