Who will win the first ODI?

The West Indies and Ireland will lock horns in the first game of their three-match ODI series on Saturday, January 8, at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica.

West Indies, led by Kieron Pollard, have a powerful lineup at their disposal. However, their recent form has not been good. They could not reach the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2021m when they lost 4/5 matches.

Moreover, they lost the Test series of 2 matches on Sri Lankan soil in a fairly comprehensive way. Their three-match ODI series against Pakistan at the National Stadium in Karachi was unable to take place due to the COVID-19 case in the away team’s camp.

The West Indies have quite a few young players who got their chance in the T20I series against Pakistan last month. However, in 2021, the team has lost 5 of 9 games.

Captain Balbirnie was named Man of the Match after he made 117 102 tackles, with fourteen and two six. Harry Tector also lend him proper support with a handy 79-run. Then the pitchers came to the party, and limited the Proteas to 247 in 48.3 passes.
