William Batchelder’s life and career is remembered in a statement from Ohio’s current Speaker of the House, Bob Cupp.

“To President Bill Batchelder, we say: ‘Thank you for your service in the Ohio and Ohio Houses of Representatives and its citizens. You will be missed – but the lasting light of your legacy. you will always shine on us,” the statement read.

Batchelder was first elected to Ohio State in 1969.
